The island of Caye Caulker is undoubtedly the most lively at this time of year. Being the home of the original lobster fest, and the only festival celebrated on the entirety of the island, you’d expect nothing less than an extravagant beach party with lots of music, food, and dancing- and that’s exactly what the Caye Caulker Lobster Fest is.

The Festival is the official kick-off event for the opening of the spiny lobster season in Belize. Local and international visitors all flock to the island to get a taste of these crustaceans.

Here’s this year’s Lobster Fest line-up of events:

Friday, July 14th

The festival kicks off with the opening ceremony of Miss Lobster Fest Pageant on Friday, July 14th, 2023. The night continues with more live music and dancing! 

Saturday, July 15th

This is arguably the most fun-filled day of the festival. You can expect a beach party with live displays of lobsters and a fisherman lobster competition (to see which local fisherman can bring in the biggest lobster, of course!) We can’t forget to mention all the tasty lobster dishes on sale for the entire weekend! 

Saturday night is the highlight of the whole event. At 9PM, a glow in the dark dance party will light up the island with live entertainment, music, and dancing.

Sunday, July 16th

Prepare for another high-energy beach party on Sunday. As the last day, it’s sure to be a blast. This year, we’re anticipating tons of musical entertainment, with live performance from Belize’s beloved artists.
